Description
John Fitzgerald Kennedy still looms heavily as a legend, over the history of my Great Country. I personally saw JFK the very day before he was assassinated in Dallas. We lived in San Antonio, Texas, and I was just a little boy when that same black convertible that he would be killed in less than 24 hours later, rolled right past me. He looked at me and smiled and waved, as did Jackie. Seeing him face to face, one day, and then sitting in shock as a child in front of the TV and trying to understand the madness of it all, somehow shaped the way I look at life. This was a day that has followed me ever since then. At 56 years old (on my birthday today Dec. 29th 2014), I still feel the weight of Camelot. I painted this image in hopes of capturing the toll that the White House had on him, leading up to that tragic and horrible day in Dallas.
