YES JESUS LOVES ME...AND YOU. I need that reassurance everyday and especially when I stumble in my Christian life. We may not love ourselves, BUT the TRUTH is not effected by our opinion of that truth. Jesus' love is NOT conditional, like human love often is, but eternal. So, I made this huge piece using a reference shot of a young man from my church, named Darmon, who has the love of Christ overflowing from his radiant face. I spent more time on this face than any portrait that I had done before it. It is the largest face drawing I have ever done as well. My objective was to create an image of Christ that looks more Jewish, and Eastern than the canned "white Jesus" that we all have floating around in our heads from the centuries of art like that.
