Years ago I stood on the cliffs of the Bulers of Buchan, in northern Scotland. I stared down at the wilting flowers at my feet that were lovingly placed amid the thistles and high grasses; my soul searched for the meaning. My friend saw me and walked over to explain. She said that there was a school teacher that gave up all hope just days before, and she cast herself down to the craggy rocks far below me. My heart has never been able to erase the painfulness of that moment so long ago and far away. I came home from Scotland with this human tragedy still hot in my soul, and I painted this.
She is my lamentation Angel and she represents the angelic confusion that occurs every time a human gives up all hope and takes their greatest gift of all�life. She laments over this tragedy and leaves flowers at the site of all such eclipses of reason and hope. It is for us all to be there�before she has to appear.
